Product Reviews:

The following 5 crates will help pet parents comfort their anxious dogs while making them feel safe when they are alone at home. However, pet parents should select a secure and heavy-duty crate according to their circumstances. It simply means considering the dog’s size, the crate’s size, & the level of anxiety experienced by dogs.

Amazon Basics Crate

I just received this crate for my golden retriever, & I ordered the large version in order to accommodate him as he grows up. The product was well-packed & very easy to assemble with provided guidelines. When I 1st opened the box, I was a bit skeptical as I did not want a product made of plastic. But once I assembled it, I was shocked to see its amazing quality. It is very roomy for my golden retriever.

I love the door design; it is smooth and easy to open and close which is surely the most important factor for me while selecting a crate. This product came as a blessing for me because my golden retriever is suffering from mild separation anxiety. But now the problem has been resolved to some extent with the Amazon Basics crate.

Pros:

  • Durable construction
  • Secure locking mechanism
  • Easy assembly
  • Give the best value for money
  • Impressive quality

Cons:

  • Not a good option for overweight canines

Petmate Sky Carrier

I badly needed a crate for my rottweiler and decided to order this one. The crate itself appears very well-made & it arrived in a good condition. As per personal experience, if pet parents are just schlepping their dogs around town or even driving them outside, the crate is outstanding right out of the packaging. The crate is surely a beast compared to my previous pet carrier. Most importantly, it is extremely roomy.

The assembly was super easy, & it comes with a water/food holder. However, on the other hand, if you have a canine suffering from severe anxiety & other related problems & you have to keep him in a crate for a very long time i.e., during long-distance travels, without any kind of supervision then, it is better to go for another option.

Pros:

  • Offer extra security
  • Heavy-duty and durable construction
  • Proper ventilation
  • Airline approved
  • Come with travel necessities

Cons:

  • It is much smaller in size than advertised

JESPET Pet Crate

I have 2 miniature chihuahuas and I bought this crate for both of them. And surprisingly, the product exceeded my expectations when it comes to quality and size. Very easy to assemble & disassemble. I was looking for a crate that is lightweight & easy to travel and the JESPET crate fits the bill in both aspects.

For the price point, it is surely a good deal. However, just like other mesh types of dog crates, it is advised to not use it for a dog who is a heavy chewer or feels stressed in a confined environment. I personally love the different access points & shapes/sizes of this crate. In short, the basic construction is great but there is one big safety flaw i.e., the clasps & D-rings are made of low-quality plastic.

Pros:

  • Lightweight & foldable
  • Well ventilated
  • Durable and stylish
  • Storage efficient
  • Easy to clean

Cons:

  • Not for heavy chewers

ASPEN Kennel

The basic purpose behind buying this crate is to offer a cozy and safe place for my mini dachshund to help treat his separation anxiety. He fits nicely in it & liked it very much but I expected to have more space for him. I have used other crates as well for my dogs who are not great traveling companions as they like to jump back & forth. But so far, this crate has served the purpose.

It is well-designed & has quite a few bolts and screws to hold the crate together. Although the crate is just made of plastic, it meets the needs of my dachshund perfectly. But on the downside, the top & bottom of the crate does not align properly. And the screws are very long so that top & bottom can’t stay together. So, it is not evenly made.

Pros:

  • Stress-free and secure
  • Offer a comfortable experience
  • Fit all sizes and shapes
  • Designed for utmost comfort
  • Built to last

Cons:

  • Customer service is not good

LUCKUP Dog Crate

I rescued a 1-year Golden retriever, he is amazing in every way apart from separation anxiety. So, I decided to get a high-quality crate for him. Finally got a LUCKUP dog crate and I would like to say this crate is definitely a lifesaver for me. I selected this particular design as the crate pan is separate from the crate bottom.

The best thing is that the crate was extremely easy to assemble & it took me less than 10 minutes to assemble it. The only concern is related to the locks, no doubt the crate is well-built & looks wonderful. But I do not know how locks got approved. In other words, the locks are awful. My golden retriever can easily come out of the crate within 15 minutes after I left home.

Pros:

  • Durable frame
  • Easy assembly
  • Easy to clean
  • Help treat separation anxiety
  • Very roomy

Cons:

  • Low-quality locks
